...Is-is this a cellphone?

[The video shows a good view of a cloudy sky and...not much else. The feed shakes and wobbles a bit, a clear sign that whoever's holding the pokegear is a grade A newbie. Thankfully it isn't long before a merciful white paw grabs the thing and turns it the right way, showing a far too excited blonde kid and a cubchoo who rests on his shoulder, looking awfully proud of herself for fixing the feed. Aw yeah, she knows technology. Take that everyone else! Teddie gives her a congratulatory pat on the head before continuing.]

It is! And it does VIDEO?! Woah-ho, this one's waaaaay better than my last one, Yosuke must've finally decided I needed a well deserved upgrade~

[He chuckles a bit to himself, his pokemon joining in despite the fact that she doesn't even know what a Yosuke is. She's just happy he's happy. Sadly, their festivities don't seem to last very long as Teddie begins to glance around, slowly beginning to realize none of his surroundings are very familiar. At all. His smile begins to fade into a worried frown as it finally dawns on him: He's lost.]

I-I guess he decided to move the house while he was at it, hehe...

[He tries his best to stay positive, but anyone with any sense could tell that was a very nervous chuckle. Cubchoo attempts to reassure him by patting his head now, but it only does so much.]

I'm bearginning to think something's going on here...

Rise did not expect to see this face when she decided to browse through her feed today. That was definitely who she thought it was.]

TEDDIE! Is that really you?!

[Can you tell she's happy to see you?]

[WOAH! Rise's yelling his name and it isn't even because he did anything wrong! This is, like, the second best day of his life. Not to mention a huge relief. Seeing a familiar face brightens him up instantly, Teddie's practically beaming.]

Rise-chaaaaaan~! I see you got a new phone, too! I mean, that makes sense, you'd so be on top of all the newest, popbearlur techie gizmos.

[Ahem, but before he can rave anymore about his new toy, first things first.]

So what gives? Why the heck is the town all scrambled and different?

Well, of course! I have to be! And it's a PokéGear, not just a phone.

[She sounds rather proud of herself. Why wouldn't she know what it is?

Oh wait, this isn't home. Be prepared for confusion, Teddie. She's been here a while.]

Because this isn't Inaba. Didn't you listen to that mom lady before you walked out of the house?

[Does he ever stop to listen?]

[Teddie stops and blinks into the feed, looking at Rise like she's talking in riddles. Lis...ten? Is that a thing people still do? Huh, you learn something new everyday...]

So...what you're saying is...

[Give him a moment, he's getting there.]

...that...Yosuke didn't upgrade my phone, but instead got SO mad he kicked me outta Inaba?!

[Talk about cold.]

How cruel...and here I am, thinkin' he did something nice for me for a change!

[With a long, pathetic sigh, Teddie hangs his head and wallows in his misery. Said wallowing, however, doesn't even last more than half a second before he pulls himself back up and begins to pat his pokemon on the head. Talk about your quick recoveries.]

Oh well, at least I got a pet out of it. [He grins again, much bigger than before. He really is happy about this, there's no doubt about it.] I bet he'd be so jealous~

N-No!

[She likes her face too much to literally facepalm.

As much as Rise missed someone from her world, Teddie was the last person she expected... how to explain things carefully without losing him.]

This isn't even Japan, Teddie. I'd blame Yosuke, too, but I don't think he's got the power to send you to another world...

[She huffs and shakes her head.] That's not a pet! That's a Pokémon! That's your companion you start out with here!

H-HUH?! You're gonna poke my what?!

[LOST. SO LOST.]

I mean- What do you mean another world?! That's...that's three whole worlds now!

[Frantic, he looks around, this time careful to examine this so called new world more closely. It did kind of remind him of Inaba, but now that she mentions it, some things were just...off. The background music isn't nearly as catchy.]

If he didn't do it, then who did?!

[IF SEMPAI WERE HERE IT'D BE SO MUCH EASIER.]

T-Teddie! Shut up for a moment and let me explain!

[Stop making her raise her voice!]

I don't know who did it! I've been stuck here all alone for months now! It's called Johto, and I know it sounds like Japan, but it's not!

[Teddie's brain can't help but record scratch right there. He doesn't even care about the whole new world thing anymore, or why people suddenly want to poke him and his gear. This is a serious matter for serious people!]

Y-You were all alone?

[His heart aches. As king of "OH GOD I'M SO ALONE", hearing that any one of his friends was lonely just hurts. That's...that's not allowed.]

[That change in tone makes her sigh. He's calmed down for now, but maybe not in a good way.]

Yeah. No one else we know is here. Just a whole bunch of strangers.

[But!!!]

I did make a lot of new friends here, so it's not all that bad! This place is a lot different from home. There's no Shadows here, Teddie. Not a single one!

[There's a very visible sigh of relief. For a second there, he honestly believed Rise was going through the same thing he did before he met any of the team. That...that would've killed him inside.]

That's good, I'm real glad you made new friends, Rise-chan. I would've bawled like a big baby if no one wanted to play with you.

[Rise was always good at being popular anyhow. Teddie's certain she must've made, like, a million friends.

The thing about Shadows happens to catch him off guard, though.]

Not a single one except maaaaaaybe me, heh...

[But...he doesn't count, right?]

[She's made real friends here! Because no one here knew she was an idol. Genuine friendships are wonderful.]

R-Right. I did get sad, but everyone's so nice here.

[Nope. Rise shakes her head.]

You're completely human here, buddy.

[At this rate his head's going to run out of records. Teddie stares long and hard into that feed.]

...Say that again.

You're human. This place apparently takes non-humans and makes them into real humans.

[She shrugs.]

It's weird, but no one here complains about it. A lot of them seem really happy about it.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHH~!!

[Teddie grabs his face, his totally 100% HUMAN face now, because Rise SAID and Rise wouldn't LIE about that and just laughs like a little kid who just got a million presents all at once.]

Does that make today my birthday?! C-Can I have a cake, NO WAIT, two cakes?! Rise-chan, I think I deserve two cakes!!

[Wow. No. Stop. Just. Teddie. No.]

I-I guess it could be your birthday today... but the cake will have to wait. There's no cake shops in New Bark.

[Since he's so excited about this...]

How about this... I can meet you in the next town. It'll take you like three days to get to Cherrygrove.... so I'll wait there with not one, not two, but three cakes.

[She works for a sweets shop.]

One for being human, one for your new birthday, and one for us meeting up again! But you gotta promise to keep out of trouble!

[Three days for cake?! Unacceptable, that's way too much work. Why would he even go to another town, this town seems just fine? Or why can't he just take a train and be there even faster? Heck, he'd even stomach the slow train.

But...three cakes is a lot of cake. And no one would be allowed to get mad at him for eating them all since they are for him... Right?

Teddie puts on his most determined face and nods, a fire burning in his eyes.]

Alrighty then, I accept!

[He says this like it's some kind of challenge.]

[Teddie, there is one train in this place. You are nowhere near it.]

Good. Now, your bag has everything you and your Pokémon need for the road.

[That reminds her.]

Oh yeah! Your Pokémon is a Cubchoo! It looks so cute~

[He was wondering what that bag was for, but hey, he's not about to complain about free stuff.

Her second comment, however, gets him to shake his head.]

This is a bear, Rise-chan, duh. How could you forget so easily?!

[That gets Cubchoo to stare at him, cocking an eyebrow. No comment on that one.]

And she just so happens to have a cold right now, as you can plainly see.

[She sighs loudly.]

She's a Cubchoo, and that's how they always look. I think she can use it to attack.... which is gross... so she's a bear Pokémon. Did you ignore what the old guy who handed her to you told you?

[Seems very likely.]

I swear, I should have Nanako explain things to you!

[Listening is for people with attention spans. All Teddie knows is that people gave him free stuff and he took it. What else is there to know?]

Huh? N-Nana-chan's here?! But I thought you said you were the only one!

N-No! Not that Nanako!

[She moves her camera to show a Meowstic... with cute little socks on.]

This is Nanako! I named her after Nanako. She's a Meowstic.

[Nanako the Meowstic nods. She likes her name.]

[Deflated balloon sound goes here. Teddie really got his hopes up on that one, but he should've suspected something was up. Why would Rise say she's alone if she really wasn't?]

Nnngh, if you say so...

[Not to mention that is the biggest cat he's ever seen. Where's Sensei when you need him? He'd probably be all over that.

And then. Inspiration.]

W-wait! You mean...you mean you can name them?!

[Rise laughs softly.]

Of course you can~ I've named all of mine! Want to seem them now or wait till I meet up with you?

[She comes back on the screen with a smile.]

I've caught a bunch of them.

[Teddie looks over at Cubchoo, as if for approval. Somehow she just seems to know and nods, approving it. He looks back into the feed and grins.]

I'd like to see, please.

Right!

[The screen is turned to the floor for now.]

Come on everyone~ I have a friend for you to meet. N-No! Hikaru! Stop that! Just line up nicely.... Jin, please be nice. I don't think freezing Kairyu is a good thing. Are you two fighting again?

[There's quite a bit more noise before the a bunch of creatures are shown on the screen again.]

Okay! From the right there is Chiisai, an Umbreon. Jin is the Glaceon, and next to him is my first Pokémon, Himiko. She was an Eevee when I got here, and now she's a Sylveon. Kairyu is a Dragonair, and last is Hikaru, who is a Vulpix. And those are just the ones here in my room~
